The southwest corner of Australia is a paradise for naturalists, outdoor lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. This region is a recognised global hotspot for biodiversity, the very first one identified in Australia. Geologically undisturbed for tens of millions of years, its animals and plants have evolved in a unique way since the Australian continent separated from Gondwana, and therefore harbours an exceptional concentration of species found nowhere else in the world. This wild and unknown part of Australia is found a relatively short distance from the Perth metropolitan area, and I can’t wait to show you the beauty of it!
I currently offer full or half-day excursions in the Perth Hills, with a focus on observing and exploring nature and wildlife on foot. We will spend ample time exploring shorter and longer hiking trails while learning more about local geological features, medicinal and cultural uses of plants and trees and the prolific bird and wildlife of the area. All trail outings are designed to cater for a small number of guests only, allowing for an intimate setting that enables me to share my passion and knowledge in the best possible way with you.
In case you like to visit other areas in Western Australia, want to target particular species or have specific interests, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me to tell me more about your wishes and time available so I can suggest an exciting itinerary for you!
